As for the Fleetwood mac comment up above, i have to say, from a musicians standpoint, those guys are a fantastic band, they write great songs, and are excellent musicians. Lindsay Buckingham is probably one of my favorite rock guitarists. HOWEVER, THEY JUST DONT ROCK ENOUGH FOR ME to enjoy sitting through an entire cd or show. So, the thought of Social D covering one of their songs makes me kinda naucious unless they of course ad a lot of power chords and fuzz.
I for one would love to hear social d cover "pet cemetary" from the ramones. i think that song rocks to no end and i heard it the other night and though Mike ness could make it better in his own way.
"uncontrolable urge" by devo may be a great social d cover also.
Just my opinions, tear me a new asshole if you want.

And the demon said: "be you angels?"
And we said: "Nay! We are but men!" ROCK!
Haha what if Tenacious D toured with Social D?
Hey Kraut, the topics may suckass but what the hell do you want us to talk about the latest Social D info? God knows how much of that there is.
Oh and by the way, Champagne and Reefer by Muddy Waters, only punkized.

klar alles klar. woher?
i think if anything...theyre most likely gonna do "the last time" by the stones like they were trying out on the '01 tours...
there are tons of songs that would be cool to hear by them...just the problem is that ness's range is very low which limits him from a shitload of good songs.
i think lyrically for the most part..."at the edge" would be very suitable for an SD cover...but they mainly like to pick love songs to do
Speaking of cover tunes, I noticed that there are plenty of songs credited to Social D in the P2P sites (like Kazaa, obvioulsly).
It may be a silly question, but there are 2 tracks which don't sound like Social D at all: "Death Comes Ripping" (Misfits) and "I Wanna Be Sedated". A friend told me that the Ramones' song was included in some SxDx boot in the past, but, hell, the vocals, the drumming and the guitar sound are way too similar to the original. Do you guys know if those 2 songs were really recorded by SxDx??
One last question: Where did the cover of "Tainted Love" originally appeared?? The vocals are slightly different from usual Ness, but it somehow reminds me of his voice (especially on the chorus).

There's a lot of wierd songs on the P2P sites credited to Ness and Social D. One that many people mistake for them is a cover of the Psych Fur's 'Pretty In Pink'. Sounds a lot like Social D but in actuallity it's a band called Automatic 7.
I highly doubt the Misfits cover is them, and the Ramones one that I heard was live so it was difficult to tell.
I really liked a live Mike Ness version of Folsom Prison Blues that I got from Kazaa...apparently it was at some industry gig. No mistaking, that one was Ness.
PS If one more teeny bopper tells me that Sick Boy is an MXPX song I think I just might yack all over their brand new chucks.
Thanks for the info, Liam! I also doubt that the Misfits' song was really covered by Social D, especially because the song in question ("Death Comes Ripping") is too metal.
As for the Psych Fur's "Pretty in Pink" I could swear that it was Ness singing (even if I found the instrumental part to be TOO pop-oriented).
How 'bout "Tainted Love"? The vocals are different from what we hear from Mike usually, but I don't have a clue if it's him singing or what...
BTW, have you guys listened to the Hellacopter's version of "The Creeps"? I liked it a lot, especially the addition of wah-wah in the main riff.
